69% of returned emigrants are unemployed – World Vision Albania Survey: 59% of them work illegally, 58% would emigrate again
A study recently published by World Vision Albania in collaboration with the Albanian Center for Economic Research regarding the integration of Albanians returning from emigration, highlights the fact that 68.9% of them are unemployed. The survey conducted in the form of a survey, among other things, shows that, among those who work, 59% are informal employees. Over 70% of returnees claim that employment, housing and information services are the 3 main needs they need that directly affect the well-being of families returning from emigration to Albania, the study says.
Slightly more than a third of returnees meanwhile, or more precisely 36% of them, claim that the average income of their families varies between 10,100-25,000 ALL per month.
About 58% of respondents say they would emigrate again if given the chance. According to them, the reasons for emigrating are related to: unemployment (50%), better employment opportunities (36.8%) and a more secure future for their children (33.2%). The study was conducted during April 2020 with 190 returnees in 13 municipalities of Albania.
