Abu Dhabi funds last segments of Tirana’s New Boulevard

Tirana’s New Boulevard Project will be finalized thanks to the financial support of Abu Dhabi Fund for the remaining two segments and the revitalization of a monumental square at the end of it.

Mayor Erion Veliaj met the director of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund’s World Operations Director Adel Al Husan, with whom he talked about continuing co-operation for other strategic projects.

“With Abu Dhabi Fund, we will be sure to bring the project to the end with a monumental square, just like Mother Theresa Square. There are some urban projects that are becoming an icon for Tirana, like Skanderbeg square and the New Boulevard. I believe that with these two annexes of Zog Square and the last segment of the new Boulevard, we’ll have a successful coronation of the relationship with Abu Dhabi,” Veliaj said.

“We are pleased with the strategic partnership with the government of Albania and we are all witnessing a great achievement. Another achievement was made in the development of this project of the North Boulevard and the river rehabilitation project. We are continuing discussions with the government on new projects. I would like to thank those who gave us the opportunity to be part of their development challenges and we will certainly continue to help our colleagues and brothers in Albania for a better future,” said Adel Al Husan, from Abu Dhabi Development Fund.

The second segment of the Tirana Boulevard was opened on Sunday, and according to mayor Veliaj, the rehabilitation project of the Tirana River does not include only the housing of families living in houses built on the river bed, but also the creation of spaces relaxing and fun for the residents of the area.
