Agriculture grants: 90% of applicants have passed the first stage
About 90 percent of applicants for the grants from the 2018 National Agricultural Financing Scheme have been announced as winners in the first phase, and now they are expected to fill their files for the next stage of the process.
Two of the main benefits criteria are the business number and land ownership.
During an open conversation with residents of the administrative unit of Dvoran, in Korça district, in the framework of meetings on public accountability tour, Agriculture Minister Niko Peleshi announced that 50% of the fund will go for subsidies of farmers and the rest will go to investments in agro-processing, storage and production lines.
“I want to say to all those who applied in apple production, for example – here we are in place of apples – they have all won, 100%. All those who applied for new apple trees have won. In total, almost 90% of applicants have been declared winners and for other measures, such as drop irrigation, or other farm investments, or matriculation, those who have applied for reimbursement of milk, 100 leks per liter. So the number of winners compared to the applicants is very high this year,” Peleshi said.
Minister Peleshi has called once again on farmers and entrepreneurs to have more faith in the schemes and policies that are being undertaken, because only then can Albanian agriculture be resumed and modernized.
Peleshi also informed that the “first call” for the IPARD Program will soon be opened, and 94m euros will be available to all farmers, agroprocessors, livestock farmers etc.
