Albania and Italy, “thirsty” for trade! Instat: December strengthens the partnership
December has “returned” somewhat on the basis of Albania’s trade exchanges with major trading partners. Referring to the latest publication of the Institute of Foreign Trade Statistics, in December 2020, Albania has had the largest increase in exports to Italy, compared to December 2019.
According to Instat, this increase was felt by about 5%. In other words, Albania has exported 453 million ALL more than in December of the previous year. This performance, although for a short period, may be an indication that Albania’s trade exchanges with Italy are trying to stabilize again. This is because the pandemic year has created “trade distance” between the two countries.
If we break away from December to see the annual report of Foreign Trade for the “pandemic year”, the country with which exports have had the most significant decline is Italy, with about 14%, compared to 2019. In other words, it is for ALL 19.5 billion less exports.
