Albania expects positive recommendation by June: PM Rama following Sofia meeting
At the meeting of six Western Balkans leaders in Sofia, Prime Minister Edi Rama said he expects the European Commission to make a positive recommendation for the negotiations.
Despite the work done so far by Albania, Rama said that the country should work until June with EU member countries.
“We expect a positive recommendation from the EU and then a positive response from member states. It is clear that we must work intensively from this period with regard to member states as this process works. But it is also clear that there is a broad understanding of the important steps Albania has made,” Rama said.
Sofia was the city that marked the closing of the tour of European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker.
The latter has also put emphasis on finding common understanding of joint project funding.
