Albania faces a demanding stage in September in its EU process: Hahn
September will start with a new demanding phase, which is related with meetings that are expected to be held in Brussels.
The statement came from Commissioner for Eu Enlargement Johannes Hahn during his meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama and other members of the Albanian government in the framework of the start of the preparatory phase of the negotiations.
According to Hahn, the calendar will soon be ready with the exact dates in order for the administration to do the necessary work.
Meanwhile, he emphasized that the staff of the line ministries is crucial, while stressing that they should have the necessary expertise.
“In each line ministry you will need the necessary personnel to negotiate not only with us, but also to negotiate with the specialized departments of the Commission, so it is necessary to have staff with the necessary knowledge,” stated Hahn among other things.
Further on, focusing on the Vetting process, the commissioner said he should continue along with the restructuring of the judiciary and the creation of new structures, since according to him, the rule of law is something that is scrutinized by EU member states.
Hahn also added that there should be results in the fight against organized crime and corruption.
