Albania / Feasibility study for setting charging points for electric cars! A national network of stations is targeted

Albania is getting ready to do a feasibility study for the installation of charging points for electric cars. The Energy Efficiency Agency has opened a tender with a limit fund of ALL 68.7 million for the realization of this study.

“The purpose of this service is the realization of the feasibility study and then the project idea, for the definition of a network for the placement of charging stations for electric cars in the territory of the Republic of Albania.”

It is estimated that the demand for electric cars will increase rapidly, with about 23% of road transport vehicles switching to electric cars by 2030, according to the International Energy Agency (2018). In 2018, EU Member States and the European Parliament have agreed on a new classification of CO2 emissions for new vehicles, to stimulate zero and low emission supply of vehicles.
