Albania has the most expensive meat in the region, according to the latest data from the European Statistics Office. In our country, meat has a price expressed in purchasing power parity, as much as 72.5% of the European Union average.
No other country in the Western Balkans has such a high rate. For all countries in the region the rate is below 70%. According to Eurostat data, it turns out that there are some European countries, some of the European Union where meat is cheaper than in Albania, such as Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania or Poland. In the European Union, Austria is the most expensive country to eat meat, priced at 145% of the European average.
