Albania one step away from opening EU negotiations: PM Rama
The meetings held at the Davos Economic Forum have been very positive for the region and in particular for Albania.
This was the comment that Prime Minister Edi Rama made during the SP Parliamentary Group meeting.
According to him, now it is clear that Albania is just one step away from opening the EU negotiations, since our country has made progress in meeting the five priorities and in pursuing reforms.
“We made it with what many were saying that we would fail. We included the judiciary reform in our program with the conviction that time had put it on the daily agenda. If Albania is closer than ever to the EU accession negotiations, this is thanks to the Socialist Party which took the challenge and the risk as a political force. Today, the challenge to make Albania a better place is completely up to us, by realizing this unstoppable reform”, Rama said.
Prime Minister Rama highlighted two decisive actions: benefiting from EU funds for rural areas, and reforming tap water utilities.
Rama also informed SP MPs over the talks with the Greek prime minister and what is expected as far as reshaping of bilateral relations is concerned.
He also stressed that justice reform is the most important part of the government and parliamentary agenda.
