Albania swept by Siberian freeze: 90% of the country covered by snow
In the early hours of Tuesday, the capital of Albania was covered by snowdrops.
The snow precipitations have started since two days and will continue on Wednesday as well.
According to the Institute of Geoscience on February 28, most of the districts expect snow precipitation, while average precipitation is expected in Diber, Tirana and Elbasan.
Snowfall precipitations will be present mainly in mountainous areas, but also in lowland plains close to the coast.
According to Institute of Geosciences snow precipitation can bring different problems in road traffic and frost as a result of the significant decrease of temperatures, especially at night.
According to hydrological calculations of IG, it turns out that rivers across the territory will have a sustainable flow over the next two days.
But from March 2, 2018 and the continuing days, the trend of flows will be towards growth.
The Siberian cold has involved the Balkans and the whole of Europe.
The dense snowfall has canceled many flights and created delays at airports and caused difficulties in road and rail traffic, while many schools have been closed.
Even in Europe, the situation is extremely serious.
About 400 flights were canceled only at Schiphol, the Netherlands, at one of the largest airports in Europe and around 200 others were canceled in Brussels.
Germany is also covered by snow.
Great Britain, on the other hand, is facing the coldest week in five years.
