Albania to benefit from EU’s 12 bln euro cultural heritage fund: PM Rama
The European Union is slated to invest about 12 billion euros by 2020 in a large area that includes the Balkans and Turkey.
A good portion of these investments is related to culture, cultural heritage and European identity of the entire area.
This, according to Prime Minister Rama, is a good opportunity for the country to attract more investments.
The head of government made the comments at the Apollonia Park during the ceremony of the end of restoration work.
Further in his speech, PM Rama also addressed the ways how tourism might develop in the country.
Increasing the number of people visiting cultural heritage sites or cultural monuments causes a direct increase of consumption in those concerned areas.
The Prime Minister also spoke about unfair court decisions that keep foreign investors away from the country.
According to Rama, there is a wall between an Albania that grows economically today by 3.5% and another Albania which has all the possibilities to grow to a pace of 5 or 6%.
A wall between an Albania that now has 1 billion euro of foreign investment, but tomorrow it could be 3, 4 or 5 billion euro in foreign investment, PM Rama concluded.
