Albanians’ real salaries to decline by 0.2% during 2018: Korn Ferry’s report
Next year it would be better not to expect a salary increase. Albania is listed on the list of nine world economies that will not only experience any real wage growth, but will suffer a decline in this respect.
This was the conclusion of a recent salary projection for the next year that has been carried out by Korn Ferry, one of the world’s largest research firms, which is listed on the stock exchange and has billions of dollars in market capitalization.
This is not at all optimistic for Albanians next year, since it turns out that wages in Albania will increase by 2.6%, while prices will grow by 2.8%.
As basket prices will rise at a faster rate than wages, it turns out that real Albanian wages in 2018 will fall by 0.2%.
Regarding other European countries experiencing a drop in wages, we can only identify the United Kingdom, Belarus and Finland, but it is worth noting that these three countries are facing large economic problems.
However, compared to the region, the report analyzes only Serbia along Albania, where real wages are expected to increase by 2.1%.
Meanwhile, the Eastern Europe region is projected to record real wage growth of 1.4% over the coming year.
