Albania’s agriculture, food trade rose by 8.2% in 2017
Albania’s trade volume in the agriculture and food sector for 2017 was reported at about ALL 145.7 billion, an increase of 8.2% compared to 2016.
SCAN TV has seen data from the Ministry of Agriculture, which say that the exports of agricultural, livestock and agro-industrial products for 2017 reached the value of All 31.4 billion, an increase of All 5.2 billion compared to 2016.
For 2017 Albania’s total exports soared by 19.9% compared to 2016, while imports increased by 5.3%, compared to the same period last year.
Imports, translated into monetary value, were reported at 114.2 billion in 2017, from 108.3 billion in 2016.
EU continues to be the main trading partner of Albania, a destination of about 60% of all Albanian exports of agricultural products, and most are vegetable products.
The remainder of the exports go to CEFTA countries and to other parts of the world.
