Albania’s economic sentiment indicator rose by 1.8% during third quarter
The economic sentiment indicator improved by 1.8 percentage points in the third quarter of the year.
According to a Bank of Albania survey, the economy has surpassed the uncertainty of the previous quarter, which coincided with the general election.
Growth came from improving business confidence, building confidence and customer confidence.
The confidence indicator in the construction sector continued to increase for the third consecutive quarter, by 7.2 percentage points.
The increase came from the simultaneous extension of the construction activity and the increase in the number of contracts.
The confidence indicator in the trade sector increased by 7.2 percentage points in the third quarter.
Commercial enterprises stated higher ratings on business performance and employment expectations in the coming quarter.
The consumer confidence indicator continued to grow during the third quarter, by 1.3 percentage points.
Individuals have reported increased purchases in large amounts as well as a better situation of their family balances.
Meanwhile, the levels of confidence indicators in services and industry were slightly lower compared to the previous quarter.
The confidence indicator in the industry sector fell by 1 percentage point over the third quarter.
This decline was dependent on the increase in inventories and slight deterioration of production.
The confidence indicator in the services sector continued to decline during the third quarter, by 2.2 percentage points.
The two main components of the index fell by, respectively, 2.3 percentage points for the balance of business performance and 2 percentage points for the demand balance.
