Albania’s GDP per capita to go over $4600 in 2018, $5214 in 2019: Moody’s
The latest improvement of the projections for Albania’s economic performance for this year and the next two by the rating agency Moody’s is also translated into a significant increase in the Gross Domestic Product per capita.
Next year, Moody’s is projecting that the GDP per capita will break the historic record, climbing to $ 4,931 per capita.
By 2019, meanwhile, the agency states that the figure will go up to $ 5,214 per capita.
2019 would be the fourth in a row marking an increase for this indicator.
Over the last two decades, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2015 have been in decline for this indicator, while all other years has seen an increase in the figure, which has never overcome the $ 4,400 barrier per capita.
If Moody’s projections are to be realistic, then Albania will have a golden opportunity to significantly narrow the gap with its neighbors in this regard.
The report, exclusively seen by Scan, is the first of the prestigious agency where the projections include 2019.
As far as 2017 and 2018 are concerned, projections for GDP per capita have been revised in positive grounds compared to two months earlier.
