Budget changes again, costs increase – Denaj: $ 20 million for vaccines and drones, $ 9 million for the New Theater

While the first half of the year has not yet passed, the Assembly is approving the fourth change in the state budget. The Parliamentary Committee on Laws has just approved the Government Normative Act for a significant increase of expenditures for a total of 11.8 billion ALL, approximately 110 million USD. The need for intervention in the budget was presented to the deputies of the Commission by the Minister of Finance Anila Denaj, according to which, the increase of expenditures is related to the vaccination project of the population as well as some important projects of the Government. More specifically, about $ 10 million will go to the purchase of vaccines, about $ 9 million to the construction of the new National Theater, about $ 10 million to the purchase of drones to be used for surveillance, about $ 4.8 million to completion of works on the new ring and the eagle square, along with several other water supply and road projects.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the increase in spending has been made possible by growth beyond expectations and revenues from Customs Taxes, at a time when the shock caused to the economy by the Pandemic has been lighter than the initial forecasts.
