Bulgarian Presidency presents main objective for Wsetern Balkans EU integration path
The integration of the Western Balkans, as well as its economic growth and social approximation, are some of the priorities of the six-month Bulgarian Presidency of the European Council.
The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Albania has presented the main priorities over the six months of its leadership, including the European perspective, stability and security, which are set as the main milestones.
“Bulgaria will actively work to provide a clear European perspective for the Western Balkans on the basis of fulfilling conditions and on the principle of each country’s achievements in implementing key reforms in these countries. Also important is linking Western Balkan countries in terms of infrastructure, energy as well as the connection with EU markets,” Adela Pashkova, chargé d’affaires of the Bulgarian Embassy in Tirana.
During the first six months of 2018, Bulgaria will seek to strike a balance between the specific priorities of EU member states and strategic partnerships for achieving visible results on European issues, sustainable economic growth and stronger EU presence on the world stage.
