Business community expects from gov’t to implement a studied tax cut: Mucostepa
The establishment of a ministry for the protection of entrepreneurship in the structure of the new government has been welcomed by the business community operating in Albania.
Ines Mucostepa, Chairman of the Union of Chambers of Commerce, said in an interview for TV SCAN that, besides offering facilities in the procedures, they are expecting from the government to implement tax cuts, according to detailed studies and in certain sectors.
“Entrepreneurship will always have its demands on tax cuts, but here we think we need to do an analysis as well. Entrepreneurships have reached a level of wisdom much higher than the Albanian politics. We will also make concrete analyzes about the technological developments we want to give priority to in our country. Often, tax cuts should be assessed according to economic criteria, according to the economic and financial stability that we need to realize. At this moment something has been made. We will have to maintain this financial stability, and tax cuts I think should be required in particular sectors that we consider as priorities and which can really lead to an earlier development. If we just ask for a tax cut that would just be a reckless demand.”
Currently, the government has promised to ease business procedures, but it does not exclude the possibility of a change in the taxation system.
