Business deregistration: 732 entities closed down in January, 50% more than in 2017
The number of businesses that have deregistered in January is 732.
According to the National Business Center statistics, that TV SCAN has seen, there is a 50% increase in the number of deregistered businesses during the first month of this year compared to the same period of last year.
According to the statistics, this number in January 2017 was 378 businesses.
The largest number of deregistered subjects belong to the district of Tirana with 336, followed by Elbasan with 80, Korça 70, Fieri 48, Durrës 45, Vlora with 42 businesses, Berat with 27, Shkodra with 26, Lezha 21, Gjirokastra 15, Dibra with 14 and Kukes with 8 deregistered businesses.
But referring to the legal changes, deregistration procedure has already undergone a simplification, although for years it has been a “nightmare” for many businesses to close down the activity.
Thus, for a natural person, deregistration is made 30 days after the application to the NBC, in the case where the entity has no liabilities to the state.
While for legal entities or representative offices of foreign companies, as well as for subjects under liquidation, it is foreseen that deregistration period will be 90 days, from the previous 120 days.
