Businesses in trouble from the Pandemic – Survey with German companies / 67% may lay off employees. They require reducement of taxes, and postponement of payments
German businesses operating in Albania have been severely affected by the situation caused by the Pandemic. They consider the measures taken by the Government to be insufficient, while warning of the risk of dismissal of employees in case the situation continues to remain the same. The German Association of Industry and Trade in Albania conducted a survey in November last year among the member companies in this chamber, which have predicted a bleak economic situation in the country. 33% of the companies that participated in the survey expect the situation to be unfavorable in the time frame of one year, while 33% answered that they expect the situation to remain unchanged.
43% of German businesses expect the situation to worsen in the sectors where they operate for the next six months, 40% expect it to remain unchanged, while 17% expect it to improve.
Meanwhile, when asked how long they expect the Pandemic to affect the activity of the Company, 45% of the subjects answered about 12 months, 19% more than 12 months, 14% expect the effects to last a few months, while 22% said that are unable to make predictions.
48% of German businesses said they had mild effects from the Pandemic, while 19% responded that they had significant effects.
