Cleaning Tirana’s parks: Municipality, Japan Embassy sign joint project
The Municipality of Tirana and the Embassy of Japan in Albania have launched a project to clean up the capital’s parks.
The agreement was signed by the Parks and Recreation Agency and the Japanese Embassy in Tirana, and the project enables the addition of tools and equipment for cleaning the Artificial Lake Park and other parks.
“I am delighted that from this agreement we receive a very valuable donation for the Parks and Recreation Agency, as an aid to the addition of equipment, baskets and a modernization system for cleaning of Tirana parks,” Veliaj said.
“It is a great pleasure to sign this project, which has a direct impact on the improvement of the environment in Tirana. On this occasion I would like to express my appreciation for the Mayor and his hard work for the creation of the Orbital Forest that plans to plant millions of new trees in Tirana, which is considered to be the best legacy for the next generation,” Makoto Ito, Japan’s Ambassador to Albania, said.
Among other things, Mayor Veliaj emphasized that cooperation with Japan will continue in order to exploit the country’s experience in sustainable development and innovation.
