Compensation fund for land owners in 2018 expected to be at 30 mln$: Minister Gjonaj

About $ 30 million is the fund foreseen by the Ministry of Justice for the financial compensation of former land owners for next year.

While presenting the draft budget of its 2018 section to the Parliamentary Law Committee, Justice Minister Etilda Gjonaj said that ALL 2.5 billion of this fund will be provided by the Government, while the rest will be secured by the fees that ALUIZNI receives in the course of the legalization of illegal constructions.

“For 2018 this figure is 2.5 billion ALL, plus those that will be created by ALUIZNI, so the value added from the state budget is ALL 700 million more. If ALUIZNI will generate some revenue, as it is planned for 2018, just like in 2017, the value will rise remain by ALL 700 million to compensate owners for their properties,” Gjonaj said.

In 2017, over 700 former owners were compensated financially with a total value of about ALL 3.3 billion.
