Construction industry made up 3% of Albania’s GDP in 2017, with figure fixed at EUR 365 million
All over the country, during 2017, building permits at the amount of ALL 48 billion were issued, which translates to about EUR 365 million.
At least that is the value that those who applied for construction permits, who may be builders or even private, have stated during the application.
A year ago this figure was fixed at only 190 million euros approximately.
This figure tends to close to reality since builders or private individuals are encouraged not to inflate or lower budget figures.
Building permits amounting to 365 million euros a year are quite significant, given the seize of the Albanian economy.
This figure translates into an annual GDP contribution of almost 3%.
This is the direct contribution of construction to the Albanian economy, without taking into account a number of other values that are added to the production chain of the economy as a result of construction.
The overwhelming part of this figure, about 185 million euros, ie more than half, is ocuppied by projects undertaken in Tirana.
This translates into a direct contribution to the economy of about 1.5%.
