Customs collected in 2017 some ALL 9.2 bln more than in 2016: Director Ikonomi
The customs administration has managed to collect more revenues than a year ago in the state coffers.
The General Director of Customs Belinda Ikonomi, in an interview for TV SCAN, said that in the budget were collected 144 billion ALL during the 11-month period, while in the same period of the previous year the revenues were ALL 134 billion.
According to her, the positive result has been realized by all items of the budget.
“Throughout this 11-month period, we have realized around 144 billion ALL, out of 134 that were in 2016. So, we have a significant increase in revenues by ALL 9.2 billion more than in 2016, ie about 6.5% more revenues collected by the Customs Administration. I stres that we have a positive result in all specific indicators. We also have positive indicators on excise income. So, let’s say that this has been a successful year,” Ikonomi said.
Throughout the previous years this administration has not had a positive performance.
But it seems that the beginning of this budget year has changed the performance trend in terms of revenue collection.
But the Customs Director ascribes revenue growth to the reforms undertaken, as well as the positive effect it has had, and to the changing of this administration’s approach to business.
