Customs “liberated” from COVID-19 – Revenues increased in June after 6 months with the most negative balance in 5 years
Albanian customs have begun to “revive” after difficult months, where due to the state of emergency created by COVID-19, revenues fell sharply as a result of reduced commercial activity. Thus, according to the official data of the General Directorate of Customs, revenues in June are the highest recorded throughout the first half of the year, reaching about ALL 13.3 billion.
The month with the weakest performance in the realization of customs revenues, turns out to be April, with about ALL 8.9 billion. In 6 months total, revenues from customs, including customs duties, excise, VAT and royalties, were recorded at ALL 68 billion, with non-realization of ALL 5 billion compared to the planning made for this period.
