Damage to exports from euro depreciation compensated by volume growth
The depreciation of the euro has damaged exports in Albania, but this damage has been compensated by the volume growth.
This was the comment that Minister of Finance Arben Ahmetaj made while attending the consultation table on the mid-term budget program 2019-2021.
Ahmetaj made an overview of the overall performance of the economy during this year, focusing on economic growth, job creation, rising tourism revenues, and increasing investment and exports.
Regarding the mid-term budget program 2019-2021, Ahmetaj suggested that the budget for next year will be focused on the citizens.
Vocational education, entrepreneurship, road infrastructure, health care will be supported and people in need will be better targeted through the new scheme of economic aid.
Along with the support, Ahmetaj also had a call for the entrepreneurship in the country.
Mid-term budget program has been consulted with the civil society, while the main point were the concrete investments that the government envisages over the next 3 years and the priority sectors.
