Projections made on the development of this sector shows that in 2021 revenues from tourism will reach 29% of GDP.

Albania ranks first countries in Europe to water resources and relies almost entirely on hydroelectric generation to meet its growing electricity (98% of total energy produced in the whole country). One of the main priorities of the Albanian government is that country to be able to autocomplete all of its energy needs and turn it into an important regional player in terms of market power. In order to achieve this goal are given a large number of concession contracts for the Albanian foreign investors who build and use various hydro-power capacity.
