DW / Special gifts from the EU: anti-COVID-19 vaccine for Albania as well
When the COVID-19 vaccine is launched on the market, the EU will donate such to Albania as well. Until then, continue to be careful and do not have any illusions that the pandemic is over, emphasize the EU and the WHO.
The European Commission announced in recent days that it has signed a first contract with the British-Swedish bio-pharmaceutical company “AstraZeneca” to purchase 400 million COVID-19 vaccines for all EU member states-
The EC press release also states that the EU will donate the COVID-19 vaccine from AstraZeneca to low- and middle-income countries.
Among the beneficiaries of anti-COVID-19 vaccines, a gift from the EU of the vaccine is Albania, as according to the World Bank classification, it and the entire region of the Western Balkans are among the middle-income countries.
