EU funds second phase of PAZA projects with 2.8 mln euro
2.8 million euro is the funding of the EU for the second phase of PAZA project, which supports veterinary service in Albania.
According to media expert, Florian Papadhimitri, the focus is on reducing animal diseases, which are then transmitted to man.
Papadhimitri pointed out that this year 500 thousand vaccines against rabies in red fox have been provided.
Papadhimitri added that, thanks to these projects, the number of diseases in animals and humans has been reduced.
From 440 infectious cases identified in humans in 2011, this number decreased to 140 in 2016.
This is the seventh campaign of vaccination against rabies. During the sixth campaign, 578.644 bait vaccines were realized and distributed across the Albanian territory.
