EU negotiators’ visit will result in a pact: Expert at Civici’s “Argument”
“They do not come, they do not depart at all if they have not received a prior agreement, no matter how small, from both parties.” This was the comment of the director of the news-portal “ShtetiWeb” Ardian Haçkaj, a guest at the show “Argument” hosted by journalist Enio Civici, when asked about the visit of EU negotiators, MEPs David McAllister and Knut Fleckenstein, which is expected to last just 6 hours.
“I think six hours are insufficient to go into details, but what the most important thing is that which we do not see, namely preliminary contacts and preparatory work done before their visit to Tirana.”
“And as far as I know, from my experience in such cases, they do not come, they do not depart at all if they have not received a prior agreement, no matter how small, from both parties. If they come and then go without any result, then that would mean that one of the parties has not kept a given promise, and this will have a cost for us all,” Haçkaj said.
During their 6-hour visit to Tirana, MEPs McAllister and Fleckenstein are expected to meet Prime Minister Edi Rama, Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta and opposition leader Lulzim Basha.
