Ex-Finance Minister Malaj slams Albanian gov’t’s fiscal amnesty

The initiative of the Ministry of Finance to forgive obligations that businesses owe to the tax administration has sparked reactions from business and economic experts.

Former Finance Minister Arben Malaj, in an interview for TV SCAN, said that this move will cause negative effects for the enterprise, as well as in the efficiency of tax administration.

Several days ago, business representatives expressed their concerns about the effects of this initiative, which according to them will clear old debts, but will also affect the competition in the market.

The initiative of the Ministry of Finance for the remission of duties has already been approved by the government and it has been introduced in the parliamentary procedures for discussion.
