External debt falls by 100 million euros – BoA figures, stock droped to 8.83 billion euros in Q3
The stock of gross external debt has fallen in the third quarter of the year, after reaching record historical figures during the second quarter, according to official data from the Bank of Albania. The figures show that, in the third quarter of the year, Albania’s gross external debt reached the figure of 8.83 billion euros, from 8.93 billion euros in the second quarter. The decline is fixed at around 100 million euros, or translated as a percentage, to 1.12%. Despite the slight decline in the debt stock during the third quarter of the year, the figure is the second highest ever recorded, after that of the previous quarter.
On the other hand, the data show that the general government occupies almost half of the gross external debt, a rate that decreases quite slightly compared to the previous quarter. In second place follows direct investment with intercompany loans and in third place depository corporations.
