Ponzi schemes properties to be put in auction for about 1.5 mln euro
The Ministry of Finance will auction this Friday around 10 factories, production lines and warehouses of former pyramid schemes.
The properties belong to two of the largest pyramid schemes, Vefa and Kamberi.
9 of the properties to be auctioned belong to Vefa.
These include 4 facilities of “Former Wood Processing Sector” in Elbasan, the land of “Former Sauce Factory” in Fier, “Refrigerator” in Rrëshen, “Former Salami Production Factory and Warehouse” in Përmet, as well as “Landfill No. 1” and “Pumping Station” in Paskuqan.
The auction will continue with the property of Kamberi, where the most important are Former Poultry Factory in Patos and a Salami Production Line in Narta of Vlora.
The most expensive property among the 14 properties belongs to Kamberi. It is the former Poultry Factory of Patos, worth about 100 thousand dollars.
The assets in question are among the few that have remained after the confiscation of the properties of former pyramid schemes and the division of a part of them.
The pyramid schemes in Albania began their activity in 1991, resulting in the tragic year of 1997, with the bankruptcy of some 25 firms that raised about $ 1.2 billion in savings of Albanian citizens.
