For the third day in a row, Albania is experiencing a significant increase in people confirmed with COVID-19. Referring to the head of IPH, Albana Fico, in the last 24 hours, 149 tests have been performed and 28 new cases have been confirmed.
Of the new cases, one is a child. In total, 2396 suspected cases were tested and 361 cases were positively confirmed. Average age 50 years.
“We inform that during yesterday evening an 80-year-old woman from Shkodra passed away in Shkodra. She was presented yesterday morning and was isolated as a suspect with COVID. After performing the tests, he was placed in intensive care. In the evening, the response of the tests came out, where it turned out to be positive, but due to the aggravated condition, the transport was impossible, ”explains Fico.
The good news is that over the past 24 hours, 5 patients have recovered, bringing the total to 104.
There are 64 patients in the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 5 in intensive care, 1 intubated. In Covid 2, the hospital “Shefqet Ndroqi” are hospitalized 7 patients, 6 in intensive care, 2 intubated. In both hospitals, 71 patients are receiving services.
According to the head of the IPH, the increase in cases in Shkodra and Tirana shows disrespect and social distancing and the measures that have been recommended.
