For whom will the amnesty for capital legalization be? The Prime Minister explains who will benefit and who will not
Prime Minister Edi Rama said that he will soon make public what he described as the country’s “New Economic Plan”. In his address to the Parliament, the Prime Minister said that the goal is to address all the dormant potentials and that the earthquake reconstruction program turns into an economical boom and social development for the country.
The Prime Minister pointed out that in this context, the general fiscal and criminal amnesty for capital legalization will be undertaken.
“In this regard, general fiscal and criminal amnesty, which I hope will have the full support of parliament, is a must to all Albanians who have worked and lived for 30 years in immigration. Honest work in immigration or in our country should be formalized. The honest ones will have the opportunity to appear and formalize the assets if they do not want their assets to be subject of criminal asset law. It is no longer possible for the country to bear the 30-year-old burden of criminal assets. We have addressed this issue and on this front we have begun a battle that will take us to the end. Fortunately, the new justice institutions that have entered the process, and in particular the SPAK, are in full swing and are proving to be in the right place. We will pave the way for bank access by excluding any kind of control of the regime of the nature of daily life. The general fiscal amnesty will categorically exclude those who have their income from crime. But those who have money from crime are inexcusable. Just like the income of politicians and their family circle, judges, prosecutors and their family circle. There is no amnesty for these categories.”– said the prime minister.
