Hungary’s Orban states EU should open accession talks with Albania
Hungary is one of the countries that openly support Albania in its EU accession path.
During an official visit, President Ilir Meta was received in a meeting by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
President Meta expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Orbán for the significant and unreserved support he has given Albania regarding the opening of EU membership negotiations.
Further on, Meta appreciated the commitment of both parties to promote economic and trade relations between the two countries.
“The reestablishment of a direct airline between the capitals of the two countries and the opening of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce in Tirana will boost this cooperation significantly. Four years from now, Albania and Hungary will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with tangible and meaningful results.”
Prime Minister Orban assured President Meta for the continued support of his Government for Albania and Albanians as well as for the further strengthening of friendship between the two nations.
