Import of goods, Ministry of Infrastructure: The port of Durres worka properly

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy reports that the work at the port of Durres for the processing of cargo ships arriving at the port continues normally, despite the limitations created by COVID – 19 precautionary measures.

The port of Durres is one of the main points where different products arrive to supply the local market. In this situation, the supply of wholesale or retail foodstuffs is essential.

But according to official data of the General Directorate of Customs, imports are at optimum levels, which means there will be no food shortages or products at wholesale or retail outlets for the supply of citizens. In the period 1-14 March 2020 alone, 149.3 thousand tons of products were imported, worth about 21.5 billion ALL.
