Improved confidence in the economy – All Business anticipate growth, except construction
The economic sentiment indicator (TNE) has increased slightly in the fourth quarter of 2020, increasing by 6 points, but continues to be below the historical average, at 81.1 points, according to the latest data from the Bank of Albania. “The quarterly growth of TNE mainly reflected the improvement of confidence in trade, industry and services. Indicator of construction confidence and consumer confidence marked a slight decline. “All confidence indicators continue to be below the relevant historical averages,” said the Bank of Albania in the survey. In terms of business, the confidence indicator in the services sector increased by 7.1 percentage points during the fourth quarter.
“The performance of this indicator reflected the increase of its two formative balances; business performance and demand, by 7.2 and 7.1 percentage points, respectively. Other surveillance balances such as financial condition, employment performance expectations for the next quarter and capacity utilization rate also improved. The capacity utilization rate was 72.2%, a value that is still lower than the level recorded a year ago and the corresponding historical average.
