Infrastructure projects in Albania will increase GDP per capita and well-being
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development estimates that Albania will be the second country in the region after Serbia in terms of the benefits it will have in the next 2 decades as a result of investments in transport infrastructure. These data emerge from the latest transition report. These investments are translated to about 2.3% of Gross Domestic Product per capita. As apparent from the chart, Only Serbia is expected to reap more benefits, at about 2.5% of Gross Domestic Product.
On the other hand, EBRD also says that these infrastructure investments will be translated into a growth of well-being, by about 1.5%. In this regard, Albania is considered to be the second in the region after Serbia, while other countries in the region follow all convincingly lower rates in both indicators. It is about projects funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the region, and it turns out that Serbia and Albania are the two countries that will benefit the most.
Albania will be the country with fewer benefits among the neighbors, with only 0.1% of GDP gains by 2040 and about 0.5% on the welfare indicator, EBRD says.
