Investment fund market rose by 11.1% in 2017
The investment fund market closed 2017 with growth.
According to data from the Financial Supervisory Authority, the total assets at the end of the year reached ALL 72.7 billion, 11.1% more compared to the end of last year.
Although the market suffered a moderate decline in the last quarter, the annual balance sheet closed again with growth and investment funds are increasingly being affirmed as the most important segment in the non-banking financial market.
Last year, investment funds numbered over 31,000 members, up by nearly 7% since the beginning of the year.
The main instrument of investing, especially for funds in ALL, remain long-term government debt securities.
According to the FSA, government bonds account for over 60% of fund assets, while about 18% are treasury bills.
However, a significant increase is recorded in investments in corporate bonds, totaling ALL 3.8 billion or approximately EUR 28 million.
This instrument is mainly related to investments in euro abroad, since the domestic market does not offer many foreign currency financial investment options.
Thanks to the low-risk investment profile, investment funds remain profitable.
Profit from total investments for the market amounted to over 2 billion leks in the previous year.
Currently, there are three companies in the investment funds market, Raiffeisen Prestige, Raiffeisen Invest and Credins Premium.
