Just 7% of Albanian enterprises involved in e-commerce: INSTAT

Data from the Institute of Statistics show that the number of Albanian enterprises exploiting the great potential of online e-commerce is still low.

Last year only 7% of Albanian companies sold products or services through the Internet.

Enterprises that sell through the Internet in Albania belong to the sectors of information and communication, transportation and technical and professional activities.

In general, the use of information and communication technology remains limited, if we consider that only half of the businesses surveyed have a website.

Although 96% of companies have an Internet connection in their business environments, the use for marketing purposes and sales potential it is still far from the potential of the time.

A drive for Internet use by business is increasing the number of public services that can be benefited electronically.

Nearly 97% of companies state that they use the Internet, among other things, for contacts with the public administration.

For measuring the level of indicators of the use of information technology and communication, INSTAT surveys all enterprises with more than 10 persons employed.
