List of Albania’s ten richest people published by Pashko Institute
The Albanian economy is fragile, but however it has its rich people.
The European Institute Pashko has conducted a study on the “super-rich” Albanians for 2016.
Thus, based only on the balance statements at the BNC and the shareholding structures, the study for last year expanded into the analysis of the 100 largest businesses with Albanian shareholders, said the Director of this Institute, Besart Kadia.
According to him, the applied methodology is based on two essential components of the NBC statements: realized profit and equity.
“We have a total ranking of top thirty that includes what we have analyzed according to profit and equity, and the outcome, after each of them is weighted. In the first place, as in the past three years, is ranked Samir Mane with his group BALFIN, the second place is held by Shefqet Kastrati, the third place by Vasil Naci, the fourth place by Behar Cukaj, while the fifth place is held by Tom Doshi. The sixth by Rrok Qokaj, the seventh by Grigor Joti, the eightth by Idajet Ismailaj, the ninth by Vilma Nushi and the tenth place by Pëllumb Salillari.”
“This is an approximation of reality, it is not reality itself, so in the top 10 of this year there is no other way other than taking what is declared in the Albanian state, because otherwise we will go into subjective interpretation and yet we will not have full data.”
This is the third consecutive year with such a study.
The methodology followed is borrowed from contemporary techniques by Capgemini, Knight Frank, Wealth-X.
Of course, these international practices are adapted to the Albanian reality in order to make sense and can be applicable and readable by the majority of the public.
