Market flooded with toys as imports grow by 38% – Exports fall by 14.6%
Children’s toys are probably the most traded product of December on the eve of yearend holidays and they are also the symbol of these holidays.
In the latest foreign trade bulletin from the General Directorate of Customs, it appears that imports of toys during the period January-October increased significantly in our country, compared to the same period of the previous year.
The data show that toys imported in Albania for children and sport games amounted to ALL 1.779 million.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, the growth is quite emphasized, at 38%. This is at least in monetary terms.
In terms of volume meanwhile, growth is also pronounced, but lower, at 22%.
This means that there is an increase both in the quantity of imported toys and in the quality, if we were to refer to the universal principle that the high price is an indicator of quality.
As far as exports are concerned, the situation is completely upside down.
In total, during the first ten months of the year, Albania exported toys at the value of ALL 759 million, or 14.6% less than the same period a year earlier.
The same applies to the export of toys in volume terms.
Due to the high demand at the end of the year, the last two months are also those that mark the boom of the toy trade, both foreign and domestic.
But what does not seem to change in the timeframe of two months is the fact that this year the market will be stuffed with toys for children as never before.
