Moody’s on Albania: Economic growth to enhance in both 2017 and 2018 as well as GDP
Moody’s predicts a bigger economic growth for Albania in 2017. The prestigious credit rating agency has recently published a report on Albania.
SCAN has exclusively seen this report, where the agency looks convincingly more optimistic regarding the progress of the Albanian economy, not only during this year, but over the next year too.
Compared to the report of two months ago in early April, Moody’s has reviewed in positive territory the projections of economic growth for the country during 2017 and 2018.
For this year, the economic growth is projected at 3.6%, while the previous report projected it at 3.5%.
Regarding next year, Moody’s speaks for a growth rate at 3.8%, while two months ago it projected a growth rate of 3.6%.
The prestigious agency projections are now approaching those of the International Monetary Fund and the Albanian government, while in recent months a number of international institutions, including the European Commission, have revised the economic growth of the country.
On the other hand, the latest Moody`s report states that these growth rates will be reflected in the real economy.
The agency notes that the gross domestic product per capita this year will go up to 4196 dollars, a slight increase compared to last year.
Next year, meanwhile, it is projected to ascend with 200 dollars per capita to 4403 dollars.
The agency’s projections for inflation and public debt, meanwhile, remain unchanged compared with the report released in April.
Even the credit rating remains unchanged at B1, both in foreign currency and in local currency.
