“Mother Teresa”, the most damaged airport in Europe! The blockade with Italy will remove 58.7% of the flow like no other airport
“No other airport in Europe will suffer as much as Mother Teresa the isolation with Italy,” notes an assessment by Mindset Business intelligence.
This estimate points to the loss of some 132,000 passengers, a decline of 58.7% from Albania’s only international airport.
Such a figure is not reached by any other European country, which means that Mother Teresa is the most impacted airport in Europe by blocking flights to Italy.
This is due to the fact that flights to Italy make up about 60% of our air traffic abroad.
The data were made for the period March-April and are based on figures from the same period a year earlier.
According to these data, the monthly flow of passengers to and from Italy with Albania is higher than in countries such as Brussels or Zurich.
Even among the countries in the region, Albania comes first. However, this ranking of Mother Teresa Airport also comes from the fact that our country has only one international airport.
