New regulation for passengers – Data, responsibility of the Information Unit for prevention of illegal migration

Passenger data, which is transferred by air carriers, will now be processed by the Passenger Information Unit, which will be set up at the Criminal Police Department, in the State Police, which will be responsible for this data. This facility will collect passenger data, such as booking confirmation code, date of booking and ticket issuance, name and surname, address and contact details, baggage, etc. by submitting them to the authorities responsible for border control, with aimed at preventing illegal immigration and improving border control.

According to the decision published in the official gazette, any employee who processes passenger data or becomes aware of them, can not disclose the content of this data, they are obliged to maintain confidentiality and confidentiality.
