Non-performing loans do not change even in August – Pandemic did not affect the solvency of individuals and businesses
The latest data of the Bank of Albania regarding the main indicators of financial health, show that the rate of non-performing loans in relation to total loans has remained unchanged during August, near the rate of 8.1%, which is the signal next that the pandemic has not had an impact on one of the most important indicators of banking health.
Since December last year the rate has remained close to 8%. The lack of impact of the crisis caused by the earthquake and especially that caused by the pandemic on the banking health, are a very positive signal not only for the latter, but especially for personal finances. Despite the large impact of blocking measures on households’ personal incomes, especially with the significant increase in unemployment, but also with the huge shock that business has received, the solvency of individuals and businesses does not seem to have been affected.
