PM Rama: Albania aims 1 bln euro investment, 250.000 jobs in tourist industry by 2025
Potential investments in tourism are expected to inject at least 1 billion euros in the Albanian economy.
Prime Minister Edi Rama said that according to estimates employment in this sector can reach the level of 250 thousand in the next 7-8 years.
Minister of Economic Development Milva Ekonomi said that investments in tourist resorts are a necessity at a time when demand for accommodation is increasing in the country.
This at least is the primary concern for tourism sector: there are tourists visiting Albania, but accommodation facilities are meagre.
The statements were made during the launch of works for the construction of a five-star tourist resort in Lalz Bay, in central Albania, with an investment value of 90 million euros.
