PM Rama: Intl. experts will assist gov’t to curb money laundering, crime and corruption
Albanian law enforcement structures from now on will be assisted by international experts in the fight against money laundering, organized crime and corruption.
Prime Minister Edi Rama said that these experts will be dislocated in Tirana and that cooperation with them will guarantee concrete results in the fight against crime and money laundering.
“A large German-American expert team will be deployed here in Albania and will work closely with the investigation structures of the Ministry of Finance, Tax and Customs Investigation and the State Police Economic Crimes Structure to enable the opening of a work process jointly with a contemporary and sophisticated methodology and increasing the capacity of these agencies to strike this phenomenon; and now it is time to deal with it and more deeply after we have marked some important results,” Rama said.
Prime Minister’s statements were made during the signing of the agreement between the Ministry of Interior and Finance with ERNST&Young for cooperation in the fight against crime and evasion.
