Press freedom in Albania – Reporters Without Borders says that Abania has a slight progress, but down with 2 positions
Albania has lost 2 positions in the global press freedom index published by Reporters Without Borders. Our country ranks 84th in the world, among 190 different countries on the globe, while a year ago it was ranked 82nd out of 180 countries, the decline in the global ranking comes despite the fact that, our country has improved in the overall scoring, which shows that the freedom of the press in the country has a slight improvement compared to the previous year, but that on the other hand, other countries on the list have recorded more significant improvement.
In terms of comparison with other countries, especially in the region, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, or Montenegro are in a weaker position than Albania in terms of press freedom. Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, meanwhile, are better off. Globally, Norway ranks first in the world, followed by Finland, Denmark and Sweden, ie 4 Scandinavian countries.
